What is cold process soap? How is it different from regular soap? Cold process soap is made by mixing natural plant oils (like olive and coconut oil) with lye at low temperatures. This process is called saponification. Unlike the mass-produced industrial soaps commonly found, we strictly control temperatures below 55∘C to preserve the maximum nutritional and skincare benefits of these natural ingredients. Cold process soap naturally produces abundant glycerin during its creation, an excellent natural humectant that helps keep your skin hydrated, preventing the dryness and tightness often caused by regular soaps.

Are your soaps natural? Yes, all our soaps are crafted using natural essential oils and plant-based ingredients, such as olive oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil, shea butter, palm oil, karanja oil, and jojoba oil. We are committed to providing you with the purest, gentlest skincare experience.

What makes Tawfiq grape-shaped soaps unique? Tawfiq's grape-shaped soap is our core product and newest offering. It's not just a functional cleansing product; it's a piece of art. The distinctive grape shape and our commitment to the handmade cold process provide an eco-luxury and unique bathing experience.

Are Tawfiq soaps suitable for sensitive skin? Our cold process soaps are gentle and pH-balanced, generally making them very suitable for sensitive skin. However, as everyone's skin reacts differently, we recommend performing a patch test on a small area of skin before full use of any new product.

Are your soaps vegan and cruelty-free? Yes, Tawfiq soaps are vegan and cruelty-free. We use only plant-based ingredients and never test on animals.

Usage & Care

What is the saponification period? Should I use the soap only after it ends? The saponification period is a natural curing process that cold process soap undergoes after production, typically lasting around 50 days. During this time, the soap's alkalinity gradually decreases, becoming milder and more stable. We meticulously note the production date and saponification end date on each product's packaging. For the best skincare benefits and user experience, we strongly recommend using the soap only after the saponification period has concluded.

How do I properly use a Tawfiq soap? Wet your skin, lather the soap in your hands, and then apply it to your body. Enjoy its rich lather and nourishing properties, then rinse thoroughly with water.

How can I make my handmade soap last longer? To help your Tawfiq soap last longer, ensure it's stored in a well-draining soap dish and kept away from direct streams of water after each use. Allowing the soap to dry completely between uses is key.

What is the shelf life of your soaps? Our natural cold process soaps don't "expire" like food, but for optimal scent and texture, we recommend using them within 12 to 24 months after the saponification period has ended. The soap's fragrance may subtly fade over time, but this doesn't diminish its cleansing and skincare benefits.

Will the grape shape affect its use? No, the grape-shaped soap is thoughtfully designed to provide a comfortable grip and a unique visual appeal. It lathers beautifully and is as effective to use as any bar soap.

Do you ship internationally? Currently, Tawfiq ships only to addresses within the United States. We're actively exploring options to offer international shipping in the future.

What if my order is damaged or lost? If you receive a damaged package, please contact us within $48$ hours with photos. If your package is lost, please contact us, and we'll assist you in resolving the issue. See our Shipping Policy for more details.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy? You can initiate a return within $14$ days of receiving your item. The item must be unused, unopened, and in its original condition and packaging. Due to hygiene reasons, used or opened soaps aren't eligible for return or refund. Please see our Return Policy for full details.

Can I return a used soap? No, unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, we can't accept returns on used or opened soaps.

How do I initiate a return? Please contact our customer service team at nelsondezeyi@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return. We'll provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and detailed instructions.

When can I expect my refund? Once we receive and inspect your returned item, refunds are typically processed to your original method of payment within $7-10$ business days. Please note that original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Who pays for return shipping? You'll be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning your item. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.
